Albie MyburghMyburgh Law P.C.

Albie Myburgh started his firm over 25 years ago in New York City. From the beginning, Mr. Myburgh had a vision for his firm providing clients with the best care when dealing with difficult family matters. That vision has not changed today and Mr. Myburgh has extensive experience as a negotiator, a litigator, and an advocate in whom clients place their confidence. Before starting his firm in New York, Mr. Myburgh began his career in one of South Africa’s leading law firms where he expanded his area of expertise to include commercial litigation and financial transactions. Since this time, Mr. Myburgh has worked for two prominent NY law firms and spent time at a Hong Kong venture capital firm. This diverse background has given him excellent experience in dealing with people and family law matters.

Today, Mr. Myburgh specializes in all aspects of family law, including, but not limited to, divorce, child care and custody, adoption, grandparents rights, LGBT marriage, and prenuptial agreements. Any one of these areas could be confusing without the proper guidance. A person who is looking to adopt a child internationally must know how to go through the right legal channels in order to avoid legal complications. A couple going through divorce must understand and be wary of hidden assets and complications involved with that. A same sex couple must understand the laws for marriage for their state.

Throughout his 25 plus years of practice, Mr. Myburgh has maintained his passion for helping individuals in all aspects of family law, making sure to listen to his clients and provide them with the tools they need to overcome traumatic and complex life events. Mr. Myburgh provides advice and the guidance to get through these issues and move on in life. With his background in finance and venture capital, Mr. Myburgh has an advantage when it comes to divorce. This background provides him with the tools to understand finances and in a high net worth divorce, uncover possible hidden assets. He understands the complexities of sophisticated financial transactions, overseas bank accounts, and forensic accounting.  This is very helpful in understanding the financial transactions of a couple and discovering the possibility of hidden assets.
